I'd like to propose a new awareness feature for Ginko. While I think it is not hard to implement, I don't know any other Mail client to have it:

We could have a (central?) place where a summary of the transport security used is being created for each transport system used. This would use stored information about the last transport event (like an SMTP send).

For Example:

----------------------
Security summary for active accounts:

SMTP using macnews.de:
Transport layer: Encrypted using TLS
Authentication: Plain Password
Rating: Good

SMTP using gmx.de:
Transport layer: Unencrypted
Authentication: SMTP after POP
Rating: Weak

POP using macnews.de:
Transport layer: Encrypted using TLS
Authentication: Plain Password
Rating: Good

POP using gmx.de
Transport layer: Unencrypted
Authentication: Plain Password
Rating: Weak

POP using gmx.de
Transport layer: SSL
Authentication: Plain Password
Rating: Good

NNTP using dfn.de
Transport layer: Unencrypted
Authentication: Plain Password
Rating: Weak, but not critical
-------------------------------------------
Advice: Try to upgrade security on POP using gmx.de with either encryption or at least better authentication (if your server and client support it). Do not use SMTP using gmx.de as your standard outgoing mail server or upgrade its transport security or authentication model.
