Dark
Adjusts the underexposed layer.
The lower the value, the more details appears in bright areas.
At very low values, artifacts may occur in compressed images.
Clear
Adjusts the overexposed layer.
The higher the value, the more details appears in darker areas.
At very high values, artifacts may occur in compressed images.
Blur
Softens the overexposed and the underexposed masks, making the layer merging a bit sharp.
If your image is very sharp, lower this value.
Tone map blur
Adjusts the blur ratio of the tone map.
If you see too many halos or shadows in your image, try decreasing this value
Merge layers and create a tone map layer
Merges the dark, clear and base image and creates a tone map layer.
Default values are fine for most images.
If you choose to merge the layers, then a new layer called tone map will appear. You can duplicate this layer to increase the tone mapping effect, usually 3 or 4 copies is fine for most images.
Finally, you can try a levels or color adjusts. The rest is up to you.
