#5 Wacom Bamboo Tablet does not work properly

Issue - Wacom Bamboo Tablet is not working properly. Pressure sensitivity does not work. When in Brush Dynamics Color is selected, the color changes from black to white. Eraser on back of tablet pen works the same as the pen part. It appears that it doesn't even register the tablet as anything other than a mouse. Gimp on my Windows XP does not appear to have the same problem with the tablet.

Tested with: RGB 480by640 72dpi
Software: XQuartz 2.4, Gimp 2.6.7, OS X Leopard 10.5.8
System: MacBook w/3GB Ram, dual core intel

I've got a Wacom Bamboo too and it's working perfectly.

First make sure, that you've installed the Wacom driver. In System Prefereces you should select the pen mode. In GIMP you need to setup the tablet under "Edit -> Preferences -> Input Devices -> Configure Extended Input Devices!" select "Device: pen" and "screen" and "Device: eraser" and "screen"
Then just click "save" and then "close".
Do _not_ close the Prefences window
Now to bind the tablet's eraser to GIMP's eraser tool simply tap with the tablet's eraser on GIMP's eraser icon in the toolbox and then click "save input settings now" in the Preferences window.
Now you can close teh Preferences window.

If you want to use the tablet's zoom wheel to zoom into GIMP's image wondow then you have to setup some keyboard shortcits.
Go to "Edit -> Keyboard Shortcuts" and select "View". Nos search for the second entry "Zoom In". This second entr is called "view-zoom-in-accel" in the "Name column. Click on the entry's "Shortcut" colum. Now youcan assign a new shortcut. Please press the left CTRL key and the "+" on the numeric keypad. (CTRL-left and keypad-plus) is the keycode the tablet wheel uses to zoom in.
To setup "Zoom out" search for the second entry called "Zoom out". It's "Name"-column is called "view-zoom-out-accel". Click on the entry's Shortcut-column and press left CTRL key and on the numeric keypad "-"
The others keys on the tablet can be set in the Driver under "System Preferences"
