Gimp, Gutenprint & Epson P50

I thought I had a problem with Gutenprint but following my post to that forum (help) it appears that the problem is with Gimp.

I use an Apple G4 iMac running OSX 10.4.11 and have Gimp 2.6.11 installed and Gutenprint 5.2.8-pre1.
I note that my Epson Stylus Photo P50 is supported by Gutenprint but when I seek to select it from Gimp's Gutenprint print menu my printer is not listed.

Apparently this is because my installation of GIMP comes with the Gutenprint (gimp-print) plug-in for Gutenprint 5.2.5 which does not support my Stylus Photo P50.

Unfortunately, and despite reinstalling Gimp and restarting, I get the following message if I attempt to use either File>Page Setup or File>Print commands within Gimp instead of Print with Gutenprint -
    - - Plug-in crashed: "print"
The dying plug-in may have messed up GIMP's internal state. You may want to save your images and restart GIMP to be on the safe side.
File>Print with Gutenprint does at least bring up the print dialogue box.

I am advised that the crash does arise as I have indicated.  Apparently I am advised that "you are not allowed to divide by zero in any language".

It appears that Gimp 2.6.6 File>Page Setup & File> Print work but not with Gimp 2.6.11 and OSX 10.4.11 and therefore I would appreciate help as follows:-

    1. Is there a 'bug" in the above File>page set up & File> print in my set up?
    2. Is there a work round other than using Gimp 2.6.6?,  and
    3.  is there a solution to enable me to print with Gutenprint?

    Any thoughts / advice please

As GIMP is a separate project than Gutenprint, I would suggest that you notify their developers of the crash on their Tiger release.  Their home page is <>;.  I am sure there is a help section there.
I diod take the time to load the latest Tiger version on an installation of Tiger.  It did crash as you indicated.  Seems like you are not allowed to divide by zero in any language.

After some experimenting, I did find that an earlier release for Tiger does work.  You can use version 2.6.6 available from the following page <>;.

I was the one helping bardolph2012 on the Gutenprint Help forum.  Both the File > Page Setup and File > Print commands were indeed crashing.  A partial crash report indicating that something was trying to divide by zero follows.  I would be glad to supply the complete crash report if it would help.

Part of the problem being experiences is that the Epson Stylus Photo P50 is not supported by Gutenprint until v5.2.6.  The plug in for the latest version for OS X 10.4.11 is Gutenprint 5.2.5.
