Please describe the problem:
When I right-click on an image file to "Edit with the GIMP", the Intuos Wacom
Tablet settings disappear. But if I open The GIMP the usual way, and the open
the image file, the tablet works.
Steps to reproduce:
1. I have an Intuos Wacom 3 tablet. I had installed The GIMP 2.4.0 as root on
Windows XP Pro. I swithed to my own account to try it, baut the stylus did not
effect the image when using the Brush tool.
2. It the Preferences panel The GIMP popped up a message that there were no
input device to set up.
3. I then switched back to the root account : when I displayed the Preferences
panel, the tablet device was already set up.
4. I switched back to my onw account and my tablet worked fine. The device
appeared in the Preferences panel.
After rebooting :
5. I opened an image file using the "Edit image with The GIMP" popup menu.
6. The stylus didn't affect tne image when using any tool.
7. I displayed the Preferences panel : no device to set up.
8. I closed The GIMP.
9. I launched it by double-clicking on its shortcut on the Desktop.
10. The stylus worked fine. The tablet appeared in the Preferences panel.
Now, I have to launch The GIMP before opening any imgage file to be allowed to
use my tablet.
Actual results:
The tablet doesn't work !
Expected results:
To work !
Does this happen every time?
Yes.
Other information:
Concerning the versions, I had completely uninstalled previous versions of The
GIMP because the new version had created a subdirectory GIMP2 in the GIMP-2
folder in Program Files. So, I don't have any other version of The GIMP on my
computer, and the gimp-win-remote really opened the 2.4 release.
I will report this problem to the gimp-win-remote problem !
