Hi,
recently I printed photos from a mobile, which are not in a 3:2 format. Unfortunately, even as "crop"-option was selected in "Shrink Page If Necessary to Fit Borders", the picture was printed stretched not cropped (to preserve ratio).
Is this issue known and is it related to selphy_print?
Some details about my setup:
OS: Raspbian 9
cups: 2.2.1
lpr Version: 1:2008.05.17.2
selphy_print: GIT
command: lpr test.jpg
Here some addition information:
selphy_print: latest GIT from 26. Feb 2019
printer: DNP DS-RX1 (backend dnpds40)
thanks in advance!
What settings were you using (in particular, what media size)?
Is this git master or the 5.2 branch?
Hi,
yes master: http://git.shaftnet.org/cgit/selphy_print.git/
Mediasize is 4x6 (10x15cm), see attachment

What version of Gutenprint? If it's the one shipped with Debian
Stretch (v9) then it's 5.2.11.
This distinction is important as, selphy_print code only covers
communication with the printer, it is not responsible for converting the
image data to the priner format.

I was actually asking about the Gutenprint version, sorry for not being clear.
Assigning to Solomon for now in case the backend is at issue, but this could well be in Gutenprint core.
Also, what application are you printing from, just in case it's the application that's stretching it?
Hi Robert, Hi Solomon,
sorry for my late response.
The print is done using plain "lpr test.jpg".
Raspbian Buster (Debian Stretch)
Gutenprint: 5.3.1

Bad image ratios being cropped or otherwise scrwed with is actually a CUPS problem.
