If it's any consolation, I can see these lines in an Epson demo printout we got from the shop before we got our 870. I can only see them in good lighting, though (daylight). I suppose it must be something to do with the print mechanism; I don't see where else they could be coming from. (I wrote the above some weeks ago.) More recently, I've looked at the remote mode commands in the printfiles I made with the windows driver. They seem to do something different with the platten gap depending on the paper type. I wonder if the right remote mode commands are needed to get rid of this fine banding.
