Are you sure about that?  According to the documentation, the printer
will ignore commands that request the printer to print outside of
the printable region.

Page 49 of 6clr_99L1.pdf:

	If image data upon a non-printable region is designated, this
	designated data is ignored.

Maybe older model printers don't do that, though.
