I compiled the code into ghostscript 6.23 (latest CVS), and it works
fine - prints at the correct position on the page. 

If you fancy my source RPM of gs-6.23 with the Epson code patch, you can
get it at http://www.jjdj.net/ghostscript. (I am uploading the thing by
modem as I am writing this mail, so give it 15 mn from the time stamp of
this mail).

If you try to rebuild the RPM, a patch from the original package (not my
epson patch) seems to fail (at least on my system): you must enter
"Makefile" when it prompts what file to patch. I haven't tried to figure
out what's wrong, I'm not an RPM guru.
