Date: Mon, 08 May 2000 12:27:20 +0100 From: Dave Hill <da...@mi...> where the values are the density of the light ink compared to the ordinary one. What happens if you specify a "light ink density" and then don't supply a buffer to dither_cmyk(), I don't know! You'll get a bus error or a seg fault when the dither code tries to write to the nonexistent light buffer. That's why the out of specifying a zero light ink density; that turns off light ink printing for that color. Robert, does this make sense or am I writing drivel? How do you work out the values of the dither knobs? Do you print colour gradients and look at the transitions? It makes more sense than anything I've written about it (because I haven't gotten off my duff and documented this yet). As far working out the transitions -- that's precisely what I do. -- Robert Krawitz <rl...@al...> http://www.tiac.net/users/rlk/ Tall Clubs International -- http://www.tall.org/ or 1-888-IM-TALL-2 Member of the League for Programming Freedom -- mail lp...@uu...
