I try to use a variety of distances.  Viewing an 8x10 (20x25 cm) on
glossy film from less than about 30 cm, I can't see any artifacts.

   I would appreciate that. Its difficult to follow some things in
   the dithering code. 

It does need cleanup.  It's better than it was pre-3.1.3, but it's
already started to accrete.
