   This assumes that every user of the plugin (that is every gimp
   user) is also a system administrator. That is not the case
   in reality so I'm not sure if everyone will like this.

The right thing to do is to allow the user to define his own
profiles.  Each profile should allow you to choose:

* Type of printer
* Print to file vs. to printer
* Printer command (which we should be able to default in a reasonable
  way)
* Every additional setting available.
