Yes it seems to be the amount of black ink.
I wish I had a scanner to scan in the printouts and show you.
Will you commit a change to the CVS code or should i fiddle with

uhm no, I placed an image in the top left corner and when I printed it
was on the center of the page to the right. Now I tried to put it 
on the bottom of the page and it ended up just above center and
printed most of the image outside the paper.

Btw. what does the density parameter control?
