The only problems were too much ink used in dark regions and not so beutiful dithering. I know how to tune the amount of black ink, if that's the problem. Now that I've fixed the dark/light ink ratio, maybe it won't speckle as badly. Hint to the guy that writes the GUI code: If you select f.ex. papersize or printer driver (setup button) and then select an new printer you loose all the values you've selected and have to go through everything again. Minor, but annoying, detail. As Karl explained, that's an intentional feature. In order for it to really work well, though, we need the ability to define virtual printers, such that the choice of a "printer" in the main dialog is really the choice of a printer profile. There also doesn't allways seem to be much correspondance between where on the paper you place the image in the gui and where it gets placed on paper. Off by about 1/2 inch, right? |
