This doesn't happen when printing from Windows applications, so I assume it is not a printer issue. Actually, in softweave mode it should be alternating between several small advances and one larger advance, although normally they're fairly close to equal in spacing. The fact that there's a difference between the positioning of the softweave and the microweave is probably an artifact of the fact that the softweave isn't correct.
