I tried it but it doesn't seem to be completely working yet. Here are the issues: 1) It's much much slower than the 720x720 microweave - it seems to be using only one or two nozzles as the paper advances microscopically with each pass. At first I thought the paper wasn't moving at all. 2) The image appears expanded by about 3x in the vertical dimension only. The expansion appears to be such that the vertical spacing between dots is also expanded, resulting in a decrease in overall density. 3) The colors seem to be much more red-ish. This may be an artifact due to the decrease in density caused by item 2, but I'm not sure of that. If fast microweave is only possible in 720x720, then unfortunately softweave may still be needed :( I'll be away from my printer for the next few days, but I'll check the list for any developments. -David |
