Running Linux and Gimp on her machine, I tried two methods to print color images: - output PostScript Level 2 and run it through Ghostscript - use Gimp-Print's DeskJet 6xx driver. Neither of these solutions is satisfactory. Black and white printing works more or less, but colors come out wrong (also, the Ghostscript driver drenchs the paper in ink sometimes).
