   I don't have time to run a very complete set of tests, but 720 and 1440
   softweave with variable dot size are working (as is 360 dpi).  The 720
   dpi modes do seem to be doubling the distance from the edge, so
   yesterday I was probably trying to print off the edge. Today I shrunk
   the image so I could tell.  1440 put the image where I told it to, at
   least at a quick glance.

OK, I'll see what I can figure out here.
