Well, that's entirely possible.  In one case you're explicitly stating
a dot spacing, in the other, you're relying on the printer having been
initialized with a particular command to set the resolution.  The
documentation doesn't clearly specify which register determines the
printing resolution.  I think it would be pretty easy to screw this up.
