I do not know if this accurate or not.  When Big Sur was first released, the HP drivers did not work.  I don’t know if they have resolved the issues.  Unfortunately, I don’t think many of the new HP models will work with Gutenprint.  Many of them do not use a command set that Gutenprint supports.
