[Gimp-print-devel] Canon iX6820 using GP 5.2.10.A

Hi,
I installed Gutenprint v 5.2.10.A on a Mac G5 running OSX 10.5.8. The problem is that my Canon iX6820 is not listed in this early  version of GP. I see it is listed as being supported in the big list on your site. Is there a way to add a newer printer to an older version of Gutenprint?
