I don't think gutenprint can aid you in printer maintenance.
Probably you can find information in the manual on how to perform
operations directly from the printer, if they are supported.

Otherwise you might get a quicker result by attaching the printer to a Mac
or Windows machine, and using the driver's maintenance functionality.
