We're still having problems where the 'usb' backend is being chosen 
instead of the gutenprint backend, and it's not obvious how (if at all) 
the user is supposed to figure this out.

Ireally we'd use the USB backend's blacklist mechanism but clearly that 
is configured differently on MacOS.

Any suggestions?
