Hi Robert and Matt, Thanks for your assistance. I had previously tried that HP download package from the Apple site along with the 4.1 version that preceded it. While it does give the computer enough information for OSX to recognize what printer it is (and even get an HP utility to read status information from it), I have not been able to get it to print by any type of automatic or manual install, IP network, Apple's Bonjour, etc. It sees it, it knows what it is: it just won't send a print. I've tried several other HP laser drivers and have gotten a few to "print," but the printer doesn't understand the signals and only prints code. If it used a proprietary protocol, that would certainly explain the issue. It's not the end of the world if it turns out to be a lost cause on my Macs... I still have a Windows machine on hand that can run it. Thankfully I didn't buy it new: most of the forum/support posts I've run into are original purchasers who woke up one day after an update to find that their printer is now a fancy paperweight. Worse yet, most of the replies are snarky technocrat responses that are less about helping someone and more about chastising them for wanting their older device to work (as if they shouldn't be upset about HP and/or Apple killing off a 5-10 year old printer that cost $800-$1000). Thanks for the info and your time - I truly appreciate it. In the event I stumble over a solution, I'll be sure to share it. Thanks again, Colton On Sun, Aug 2, 2020 at 12:05 PM Matt Broughton <wal...@ma...> wrote: > > > On Aug 2, 2020, at 11:07 AM, Robert Krawitz <rl...@al...> wrote: > > On 7/6/20 12:03 PM, Proud Texan wrote: > > Hello, > > I was hoping that you all might be able to help with a particular issue > I've run into.
