Thank you for your report.
Yes, indeed, the Canon driver has no colour calibration, so users need
to utilize the CUPS density parameters to adjust colours.
On the other hand, pixelation sounds like possibly something
different: are you using the photo resolution modes, or just using the
default mode?
For each media type, there are different resolution modes that are
applicable, even if you choose the mode for a different media the
driver will switch to an equivalent mode intended for the media of
choice, but the quality might not be what you want. So please tell me
what media type and what resolution mode you are using.
I am away until 18th January and not able to help with debugging much
further until then.
