[Gimp-print-devel] sony udr200 dye sub not Printing, stuck on transfer

I am having issues trying to get a sony up-dr200 printer to work on a 2010
mac book  2.4ghz with 8gb ram runningHigh Sierra
I have read the “hidden dyes printer” topic in the FAQ

when I got to add the printer  in mac OSX.
under the 2nd column that says “kind” it says USB
but the instructions say it should say “sony up-dr200 - cups+gutenprint v
5.2.14”

at the bottom of the dialog it says use sony up-dr200 - cups+gutenprint v
5.2.14


so at least it is showing in one of the two areas. I also loaded u 5.2.15
pre release with same issue

When I try to print the lcd on the front of the printer says transferring,
but then it never finishes. it’s like the printer  is not getting a stop
command.

My first post so please go easy on me. I searched the archive and did not
see an obvious solution.
