Greetings all;

Been here before folks.

Is there any chance that this printer can, or will be supported at some 
point with a non brother driver that actually works? Old cups 1.5.3 
here, on a wheezy install and something is filtering out all the fine 
tuning commands from the brother drivers intended to used with cups. So 
all the color adjusters that show up under the advanced menu selection 
when configuring this printer have zero effect, and the color printouts 
all are very pastel, as if every option was permanently set at -20.

Something I was recommended to try previously has even made the clean 
printhead into an unsupported command, requiring I do that from the 
printers own menu.

I have asked for, and been ignored, a description of the path in terms of 
what filters the data to print may be passing thru between the file to 
print, and whats fed down the cable to the printer in hopes I might be 
able to recompile it and make this printer usefull. The ppd supplied by 
the brother driver installer, has all these bells and whistles.

So I am asking again, what do I look at in hopes of finding this 
blockage. What is the chain of drivers/filters before it hits the cable, 
which can be either ethernet or usb, that makes no difference.
