I would recommend you take the following steps:
1.  Reset the printing system per Apple article <http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1341>
2.  Download and install the latest version of Gutenprint from <http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php>
3.  Re-add your printer.
