Now that CUPS 1.2 has a parallel backend with backchannel support, is it still appropriate to install the canon and epson backends? I have seen one case where it doesn't work when it is chosen instead of the parallel backend when setting up a new printer: after choosing the backend, there is no make/manufacturer selection; it goes straight to a model list of (CUPS+Gutenprint) PCL drivers). That was with an Epson Stylus Color 660. I'll try to reproduce this with my C60. This might be a CUPS bug (I think I saw something recently about the manufacturer selection).
