Date: 29 Sep 2001 0:10:32 -0500 From: "Gene Heskett" <gen...@io...> Pursuant to my problem with the cups, (I think, it looks like I have "GNU Ghostscript 6.51" installed, and atm I don't recall what install in the 10,000 monkeys print attempt it came from), and its consistent useage of a paper spec about 1/4 inch or more longer than the available letter area of an Epson Stylus Pro. The (in-)famous paper waster. I thought I gave you a fix for that; did it not work correctly? If it's not enough, it's easy to adjust. It may be that it needs different borders with softweave vs. otherwise. I compiled on the amiga, years ago, gs 5.10, which has the stcolor drivers available, and which handles this printer dead correctly. I just tonight stumbled across a file called 'stcinfo.ps' which when fed to a properly initialized gs by this short script: This file exists in gs 6.51, although it doesn't work correctly, as you note. I would love to be able to get color output, and paper size control on the linux box like I have on this amiga. Is this a bug I should file against gs 6.51, or is it repairable somehow via a cups/print/gimp-print rebuild from the most recent release? I'm more interested in fixing gimp-print than worrying about stcolor, but I'm not quite sure what you're asking about. Do you want the color chart that this stcolor.ps file prints out, or something else? -- Robert Krawitz <rl...@al...> http://www.tiac.net/users/rlk/ Tall Clubs International -- http://www.tall.org/ or 1-888-IM-TALL-2 Member of the League for Programming Freedom -- mail lp...@uu...
