On many distros you do not need to do more then plugging in the printer and the queue gets created automatically. Also most HP printers are compatible to their predecessors. If you do not find a driver for exactly this model you will most probably find another HP-supported model with which make this printer working (nearly) perfectly. Till |

If this model is supported by HPLIP, there's no really good reason to put that support into Gutenprint, since HPLIP is also fully free software. -- Robert Krawitz <rl...@al...> Tall Clubs International -- http://www.tall.org/ or 1-888-IM-TALL-2 Member of the League for Programming Freedom -- mail lp...@uu... Solomon, > thoughts? It is indeed a dyesub model, and a little digging dhows that it's essentially a Sony UP-DR150 with firmware modifications of an unknown scope. The IP-64 is intended to be used as part of a full "minilab" setup, but Nortisu claims there's are standalone Windows and Mac drivers available. However, they actually cost extra, and are not freely downloadable. I haven't found anywhere reputable that claims to have a copy of that driver either. If this model doesn't work by simply adding its USB VID/PID to the existing Sony backend code -- Robby, contact me directly and we'll see about that -- we will need a way to obtain printjobs and (especially) USB traffic from a working setup in order to many any progress. - Solomon -- Solomon Peachy pizza at shaftnet dot org Coconut Creek, FL ^^ (email/xmpp) ^^ Quidquid latine dictum sit, altum videtur. |

Robby, did you want to try and see if the IP-64 can be made to work with what we already have? - Solomon -- Solomon Peachy pizza at shaftnet dot org Coconut Creek, FL ^^ (email/xmpp) ^^ Quidquid latine dictum sit, altum videtur. |

Hello. I have an HP ENVY 4520 Printer. I recently updated my Mac to OS Monterey version 12.1. Now the printer won't work. I didn't see my printer on your list. Am I missing something? My Mac has the M1 chip. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. Ed |

Ed The HP Envy 4520 uses a command language that is not supported by Gutenprint. The HP site does have drivers for macos 12 Monterey. Matt |
