I am having issues trying to get a sony up-dr200 printer to work on a 2010 mac book 2.4ghz with 8gb ram runningHigh Sierra I have read the “hidden dyes printer” topic in the FAQ when I got to add the printer in mac OSX. under the 2nd column that says “kind” it says USB but the instructions say it should say “sony up-dr200 - cups+gutenprint v 5.2.14” at the bottom of the dialog it says use sony up-dr200 - cups+gutenprint v 5.2.14 so at least it is showing in one of the two areas. I also loaded u 5.2.15 pre release with same issue When I try to print the lcd on the front of the printer says transferring, but then it never finishes. it’s like the printer is not getting a stop command. My first post so please go easy on me. I searched the archive and did not see an obvious solution. [image: Screen Shot 2019-04-08 at 4.38.47 PM.png] |

There may also be a problem with the 5.2.15-pre1 release. I hope you can help test to see if you find the same bug. You are definitely on the right track in installing thed 5.2.15-pre1 release. The printer needs to be set up a bit differently than you currently have it. Please Delete the current printer you have where all you saw was USB. Then you want to add the printer again. This time you should be able to add the printer with a connection of 'gutenprint52+usb'. Then select the software as Sony U-DR200 - CUPS+Gutenprintv5.2.15-pre1. Please post back to let us know if that works. If you still can't print, please go to the Console application: /Applications/Utilities/Console. There is a column on the left side of the window. Please use the disclosure triangles on the left to find /var/logs/cups. The click on the error_log option. Copy and paste anything that begins with a capital 'E' and post back. It may appear as: E [31/Mar/2019:12:03:31 -0500] [cups-deviced] PID 1340 (gutenprint52+usb) crashed on signal 6! If that is what you report, downgrading to Gutenprint 5.2.3 should work. In any event, please post back to let us know if you re-add your printer using gutenprint52+usb and get the message of an error ('E'). That would greatly help the maintainer of the dye sublimation code fix the problem. -- Matt wal...@ma... |

I tried installing 5.2.3, but during the installation I get an error message that the software failed to install because no software was found? I am running osx high sierra and it looks like 5.2.3 is for much older OSX? Is the reason it is failing to install?
