GM4070 is an economical printer (with the ink bottle instead of expensive cartridge) but only available currently for windows. Is there any possibility to add this to the list of printers available at Gutenprint.

Any possibility to add Canon GM4070
Please try the G4000 driver. I see the G4010 model is explicitly
there, but no other models in that series. I can add an entry for the
G4070 later in the week.
Please test in the meantime and let us know if it works for you.
Best regards,
Gernot Hassenpflug

Hello,
My apologies, I see you spoke about the GM4070 not the G4070.
I am afraid we do not have support for any of the GM series yet.
New printers are on my TODO list, and I am escalating requests from users
such as yourself,
but I cannot give a fixed date by which I will be able to add any
experimental code for testing.
Best regards,
Gernot Hassenpflug
Thank you Gernot. That was very kind of you. I look forward to hearing from you.
meanwhile any suggestions for making it work with bare bone functionalities?

Hello,
Unfortunately I do not know what these printers are similar too unless
I actually install drivers and take some test printjobs and analyse
them.
Which would be possible eventually, just not now.
Feel free to try among the Maxify models, maybe the G, TR, TS models
and see if any of them print at all.
I would try black (monochrome) plan media first. This is the simplest
command to check, and if any driver works with black printing,
then there is at least a chance to test colour printing.
Sorry I cannot help you more at the moment, but as I wrote, I will
push the GM4000 series to the front of the queue of new series to add.
Best regards,
Gernot Hassenpflug

No worries. Thanks for the effort.
I tried with G, TR and TS. They are not working.
Thanks for pushing it to the front of queue. Looking forward to the release.

Hello,
I could take printjobs from Windows this weekend, and need to analyse them.
A bit slow progress, but going along.
Best regards,
Gernot Hassenpflug
Hello,
I am sorry, owing to family commitments I have not had time to look
into this further in the meantime, apart from collecting the printjobs
for analysis.
So this is still on my todo list along with a number of other issues.
Sincere apologies, I will do my best to find time, this printer is at
the top of the current queue.
Best regards,
Gernot Hassenpflug
