I have the following problem with Canon Selphy CP910 Printer:

When the printer needs a refill (paper/color cartridge) the printer gets disabled and has to be manually re-enabled in printer setup menu (gui). Then it reprints last qeued job. This job has already been sent to printer and is printed after changing printer supplies.

I use Xubuntu 17.10 with Cups 2.2.2 and Gutenprint 5.2.12

When the printer runs out of media it signals the error to CUPS, and CUPS marks the printer as offline. Unfortunately there's no way for Gutenprint/etc to signal to CUPS that the printer is available. This is a limitation inherent to CUPS.

I'm going to close this becuase there is nothing Gutenprint can do about this situation.

I have the same problem. @Dirk, do you have found a way to solve the problem?
