5.2.8 beta 1 doesn't install on Ubuntu 11.10:

    It was 'sudo make install'

    Does that directory actually exist, and if so, what are its permissions?

    The directory didn't exist. Creating it solved the problem. But I'm not sure which part of the printing stack should be automatically taking care of that.

    That's strange, that

    /bin/mkdir -p `/usr/sbin/foomatic-kitload -l`

    isn't working...
