#6 New extension: Finder thumbnails

While you can turn on Finder's built-in thumbnailing for standard
image types, it won't thumbnail your pretty .xcf files.

If there's not a way to register some kind of magic handler for
that, a possibility is to slip the thumbnail icon into the file's
resource fork on save.

Not sure if that can be done without hacking Gimp directly.
