#6 allow a "notes" field

I think there should be a "notes" field to someone to
add a note viewable by everyone but the intended
recipient (attached to a particular item). For example,
if someone requested something open-ended, or a
multi-part gift, you could clarify exactly what you got
them, or what might still be available for purchase.
