#8 input file deleted, no output

After reinstalling gsv 4.7 gscript 8.53 and gostword
2.1, i still find that my inpyt .ps is deleted, and no
output pdf is written. No messages.
Using XP sp2 with all updates applied.
Fortunately i can use gscript ps2pdf from the command
line ok.
