Hello, I used GC for a long time with SFTP-Plugin (from F-Droid) to get access to my home SSH fileserver (ubuntu 18.04, later 20.04).
Today I experienced, that sftp-access no longer works:
Enter my servername, username, password and the reaction in the tab header is "Please Wait"(german "Bitte Warten").
I tried it with GC 1.56.4, 160b1 from f-droid and Release from here "Ghost Commander 1.60.1.apk" and theyr SFTP-Plugins.
I tried it in Android 9 and Android 10.
And I tried another SFTP-App (spider from f-droid) with same credentials, this works.
As far as I remember, there should be a fingerprint to be shown, but it isn't. Only a blank black tab with "Please wait" in the header.
I checked the the sshd server for an active connection, but there isn't one.
Its a pitty, that I cant say, when was the last sucessful sftp-connection and what I did later ( updating GC or updating ubuntu )
Nevertheless, thank you for GC at all.
The old SFTP plugin is about to be retired. There is a new plugin which is based on a more advanced SSH library. Unfortunately, it is not available from f-droid, and furthermore, if you want to give that a try, you would need to uninstall the apps and the plugins you took from f-driod since the package signing is not compatible. If you still want to try, please download the latest app 1.61.2b1 and the new SFTP plugin from this SourceForge site.
Hello zc2,

Donated you for this good work. Thank you, happy and healthy New Year to

#75charmingbear,
Thank you for testing and for the donation. I will release the new plugin soon.
Happy New Year!
I am sorry if this is a stupid question, but I think I can’t find the new, recommended SFTP plugin.
I use Ghost Commander 1.60.1, installed “normally”, from the Play Store. Connexion to my desktop SSH server used to work, but now systematically makes the application crash. I suppose this is due to me using the outdated SFTP plugin. But where can I find the new one? Searching for SFTP Ghost (for example) on the Play store only shows the one I have already (together with other irrelevant plugins).
Oops, I just realized that I apparently already use the new SFTP plugin: the app information indicate that it was updated on the 16th of January, 2021, and the text indicates that it “now uses a completely differing underlying SSH library – jsch (…)”.
I suppose I will open a new bug report about the crash.
Prior that, please upgrade your app to 1.60.2, thank you.
Done, problem solved. Impressive!
