Marek Left Ghornon's Hammer

Our new developer Marek left the team of active Ghornon's Hammer developers due to a lack of free time. I am glad that he will still help the project with testing and suggestions. Let me point out that he is a truly great coder and the development of Ghornon's Hammer will certainly slow down without him.

Ghornon's Hammer Alpha 0.1.2 Released

After Marek has joined the team, the Alpha 0.1.2 release went quickly - and it has more features than initially designed!

Alpha 0.1.2 adds a particle engine to Ghornon's Hammer, so that the game can display fire, smoke and other particle models easily. Particle models are loaded from XML files and can thus be edited easily.

Working with Marek is a pleasure and I am sure, that Ghornon's Hammer will be an even better game thanx to him!

Ghornon's Hammer Alpha 0.2 Released

Yesterday, Ghornon's Hammer Alpha 0.2 was released. It shows off its 3D object system by letting you walk through a little windmill village.

Ghornon's Hammer uses an own 3D object format, which has a binary and an XML version. Latter can be exported from 3D applications like Blender using an export script. That way, model making is faciliated and 3D artists don't have to learn a new modelling tool.... read more

New Team Member and Object System Progress

After the successful Alpha 0.1 release of Ghornon's Hammer, a new developer joins the GH team. His name is Marek and he will start helping out after the first object system release (due on the 19th of June).

The object system is progressing nicely. At the moment, it can load the native GH format and display those objects. Now we are working on loading and saving from and to XML files which will make it easier to convert from other 3D formats.... read more

Ghornon's Hammer Alpha 0.1 Released

On Sunday, Ghornon's Hammer Alpha 0.1 was released. This release implements the first version of the Ghornon's Hammer 3D terrain engine, which will be used as a ground for all the action to take place.

As Ghornon's Hammer is increasing in popularity (despite the Alpha status and non-playable versions), we are working even harder on upcoming releases, like the object system, which will be released in its initial version on next Sunday. The object system will use an own 3D file format (similar to the one of Milkshape) to load 3D objects and display them.... read more

Initial Homepage Uploaded

I uploaded the initial homepage of Ghornon's Hammer, describing the basic design and future plans for the game! I also activated the forums and hope, that there will be some traffic soon! Next important date is the Sunday, where Ghornon's Hammer will enter Alpha state and then the 12th of June where we planned a first release, a demo of the 3D terrain engine.
