Ggrelay 1.4 powinien rozwiazac problem z nadmiarem wiszacych polaczen przy awarii serwera GG. W nowej wersji mozna ustawic sensowne limity czasu laczenia sie z serwerem (opcja --conn-timeout). Domyslnie jest 30 sekund.

Nowa wersja z jedną raczej znaczącą zmianą - pozwalającą na działanie klienta Gadu-Gadu w wersji 6.1 z ggrelayem.

There is the new ggrelay 1.3B. The long-lasting bug with managing IP changes (on servers with dynamic IP) has hopefully been solved. Additionally a warning generated by ./configure has been fixed. Enjoy!

Ggrelay is now a bit more clever. Version 1.3 has a new server selection strategy, what should correct most problems with connecting via ggrelay. Now the original destination of redirected connection is used. Additionally, new rc scripts are available, featuring an automatic external interface autodetection based on the default route. Please note that new configuration file is /etc/sysconfig/ggrelay. All GG servers should be inserted there (as per default are). As always, there are generic (Redhat/Fedora) and PLD-specific RPMs available as well as tarred sources. Have fun.

New version incorporates lots of bugfixes, most notably several SEGFAULTs have been fixed.

Release 1.1 contains some fixes regarding closing connections too early by ggrelay. This causes transmission errors when sending files to NATted clients. Moreover an additional command-line switch (--scalable) has been introduced to be used on large networks, which causes ggrelay to allocate more space for UINs hashtable.

Just an advice: if you get "warning: uins hashtable limit exceeded, clearing" enlarge GG_UINH_SIZE and GG_UINH_LIMIT in src/ggrelay.h to, for instance 8192 and 100000 if you are servicing about 3000 users simultaneously.

Ggrelay finally is stable. After the most recent fixes it seems to not eat memory, cpu time, etc. :) Testing, as always, is highly appreciated. Additionally I hope that ggrelay is now scalable enough to be used in large networks. Enjoy.

More bugfixes. Please report any problems. If you use rc5C please upgrade as soon as possible unless you want your /var/log/messages flooded with 'ggrelay: assertion failed ...'. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The next subversion: 1.0-rc5C with fixed completly broken semantics when testing poll() results for error condition on connections.

New subrelease contains several minor fixes of problems pointed by users. Also a bug causing crashes with new poll() mechanism has beed hunted and fixed. Now ggrelay can be compiled even with debugging support using gcc < 2.96.

rc5A contains just subtle chages: main program loop has been rewritten to use poll() system call instead of select(). This may improve its efficiency a bit. Additionaly a subtle bug (theoretically causing memory leak in some cases) has been fixed.

People from PLD (Polish Linux Distribution) project have taken ggrelay in their hands. It is going to be added to the distribution in the near future. Thanks, guys!

For your convenience I've managed to package ggrelay into RPMs. They are available from the download page.

1.0-rc5 released. Hopefully this is the last release-candidate version. It incorporates some fixes, particularly severe memory leak fix occuring when there are problems with connecting to GG servers. Memory management is also improved, reducing memory usage by a factor of up to 10.

The new version. With several bugs fixed and experimental cascading support. I'm looking for testers willing to help me testing ggrelay on >50 users networks. Please contact me (accek@poczta.gazeta.pl) if you'd like to become one.

The new version incorporates fixes of some severe bugs causing incorrect data relaying (including data loss and connection breaks).

It also has highly experimental support for SSL connections. For cryptography works with ekg client, but not with Windows GG. It will be hard to support Windows, but I will try to do, what I can do...

In the new version 1.0-rc2 the "big fat warning" has been fixed. It means, that after some simple hacks described in README, ggrelay is interoperable with Windows GG6.0 clients. The next step is implementing SSL support.

ggrelay-1.0 will not work with most Windows clients (thus it doesn't hurt), see http://ggrelay.sf.net for details. Ggrelay 2.0 should support all GG clients. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience.

The new release 1.0-rc1 will be submitted soon. I'm now away from my home and will be back on Sunday.
