Just submitted a patch with a first go at an 'about' method (GEOT-3881).

Andrea, a couple of questions:
- How would you detect whether native jai is installed in a platform
independent way ?
- Can you explain what you meant by the reference to META-INF folders ?

Sorry for dumb questions. I'm having a slow, unproductive,
all-useful-neurons-disabled day / week / year...
