[Geotools-devel] Question about Mercator_1SP

Hi list,
I am playing around with some remote sensing data these days which
comes in mercator projection. I was writing some code to convert this
data into geotiff while I came across this issue.

The projection is supposed to be Mercator_1SP for which I was
referring to the following guide:

The discrepancy I found is that the provider for Mercator does not
support a latitude_of_origin parameter whilst the above mentioned page
requires it. I have to admit that I have not cheched the EPSG db yet.

Once I warp my geotiff file to wgs84 and I overlay some good old
shapefile with coastline I see a constant translation between the two.

Any hints?
