Bryce Nordgren was working on the geotiff code. I think he was waiting
for the recent grid coverage changes to settle before he continued. For
full geotiff support he needed to allow for custom CRS's, which he
documented here:

I don't think I got back to him about CTS stuff for this, so let me (and
Martin) know if you have any questions about geotools cts.
