Thanks for the feedback, Your fid experiment is the main thing we are concerned about implmenting. It is right up there at the top of the page as one of the goals of this process. Basically after changing things around on our branch, we try to merge in fid-exp/grid-exp. If we can't do easily (because say the cvs import was lame) then we wait until your fid-exp is done. Admittedly this would be bad because Martin is waiting on the merge before setting up Jessie/Richard to complete GridCoverage Exchange. Ack project planning. I want the merge to work so fid-exp does not get on the critical path. >> So I only have one question left - what would you like?: >> - http://svn.geotools.org/geotools/trunk/geotools^ >> - http://svn.geotools.org/geotools/trunk/gt^ > > Some feedback: > * legend module is mine, it's just that I did not have time to work > on it recently > * should the jdbc data store abstract class stay in the main module? It's > a bit specific in my opinion... why not have a plugin module > for it? Q: you did not answer my "only" question? "geotools2" renames to "geotools" or "gt" - it is okay I will wing it. plugin is very specific - modules that are loaded via a FactorySPI at runtime. ext is very specific - additional librarys built ontop of geotools What we can do is not merge data (leave it as part of the module directory), the results can still be rolled into the main jar. We can just put off merging until things are happy. However chances are that svn merging will be great (it is why we came to the party after all) and we will be able to drag your changes over to where they are needed. > * how will the merge impact the fid_exp branch? I won't be able to work > on it and finally fix the oracle data store until weekend but it would > be probably better to merge the branch before the module revolution? This merge is a dry run (on a branch), it is a test to see of we merge in your fix-exp even in the face of massice directory strucutre renaming. Sometime after we want to do the same thing to the trunk - at least after this experiment we will know if we need to wait on fid-exp before we reorganzie the trunk. Jody |
