Hi, we have a problem with the dbf writing.
When our program generates a shapefile/dbf using geotools, the octet
before the first record data is (0x00). Apparently, most of GIS
software, PostGreSQL.... don't care about it. Our program uses an applet
for data visualization on Internet called "AlovMap" and this (0x00)
We have tried to import the generated shape/dbf into postGIS and to
export the result table. The dbf file was exactly the same except of
this octet. PostGIS replaced it with a (0x20) octet.
Please note that between each record in the dbf file, there is a (0x20)
In the facts, when AlovMap reads a GeoTools shapefile it uses the
attributes of the record N with the geometry of the record N-1. When
using PostGIS shapefile, everything works fine and the attributes fit
Is there a way to solve this problem in the GeoTools code and to replace
this #$@ (0x00) octet?
If you have lack of time to correct it quickly, could you tell us some
clues, so that we could modify the Geotools source code by ourself?
