Certainly a finer point in compiler technology, but the style of coding
is certainly a good one. I guess an alternative would be make an
abstract class in the package with the outer class as an argument, and
have subclasses of the outer provide a subclass of the other abstract.
This particular style is a bit advanced but very effective in terms of
encapsulation and API useability.
