I am new to Linux and am starting to use Ubuntu. Geoqo looks like a great app to continue my hobby of geocaching with. I think I managed to install the perl, sqlite and CPAN elements simply by copying and pasting the terminal commands for the Debian distro from the web site. Now I come to "unpack" Geoqo but the subsequent lines starting with the .tar.gz in Terminal result in a Not Found response. I also managed to download the 0.97 tar.gz version to my desktop but when I open it I see no folders suggesting I could open the program itself. I'm stuck! Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

It's almost working, but I'm testing some last glitches I found. (for anyone interested, I've been playing with the PAR::Packer module that builds complete self-contained perl "thingies"; the trick is loading all the optional modules ahead of time). -- "In the bathtub of history the truth is harder to hold than the soap, and much more difficult to find." -- Terry Pratchett |
