 Hi Llyod Wood,
               I installed cygwin 64 bit from here: 
 https://cygwin.com/install.html and Geomview 1.9.5 from Geomview 
 download page. Then I did ./configure and for me it worked okay. Any 
 reason why you are using 32 bit and 2.8.0 cygwin?
