Hello Mr Merrony,
and thank you for your effort with Genpo. It's a very nice program that works!
I've sucessfully compiled 0.9.7 on Ubuntu 8.04 after adding a few Qt-dev packages, and everything seems to work nicely.
However, as a professional organist, I have a few thoughts that maybe could improve Genpo even more.
1. Stops really should activate or deactivate immediately even on a lying chord
2. Couplers should be possible to program into presets/pistons
3. More MIDI events should be caught and possible to put to use for different purposes. (it would be nice to be able to decide what kind of action to take for a certain MIDI event in a more flexible way) For instance to be able to control stop activation/deactivation from MIDI signals of any channel, or any chosen preset/piston activation not only from MIDI program changes. Also it would be nice to have swell box effects on any chosen division from potentiometer changes on any channel and controller.
It's possible of course that any such changes would complicate the creation of the XML file, but if possible one could perhaps integrate OrganDesigner into Genpo or at least suggest reflecting changes in that program too.
Anyway, that's just my thoughts... I really like Genpo because it works and makes it possible to play nice organ sounds at home from my Linux computer!!!
